Dr Peter Kar Yun Lee is a highly experienced general practitioner who has been working in the Sutherland Shire community since 2018. He graduated from Monash University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and, after initially training in surgery, transitioned to general practice in 1997 to focus on delivering care within the community. He is an active member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He also obtained a Diploma of Child Health in 1990 from the University of Sydney.

Dr. Lee has worked extensively in the Sutherland Shire, where he has been actively involved in shared antenatal care with Sutherland Hospital during 2019 - 2021, chronic disease management, and providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages. He has also contributed to the development of future GPs as a GP trainer from 2020 to 2021.

In recent years, Dr Lee has focused on managing complex chronic conditions, WorkCover cases, mental health support, and preventative health care for the local community. He is committed to delivering holistic, patient-centred care and is passionate about promoting long-term health and wellbeing.

Dr Lee’s areas of special interest include:

  • General Medicine – Managing a wide range of acute and chronic health concerns.
  • Preventative Medicine – Early detection and prevention through screenings and lifestyle interventions.
  • Paediatrics & Infant Health – Routine health checks, immunisations, and developmental care.
  • Chronic Disease Management – Providing structured care plans for long-term conditions.
  • Mental Health – Supporting patients with anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.
  • Men’s Health – Comprehensive care including reproductive health, preventative care, and general wellbeing.
  • Travel Medicine – Pre-travel advice and vaccinations.
    In his spare time, Dr Lee enjoys woodworking, building scale models, and exploring new cultures through travel and food.

Dr Lee will be starting on Tuesday 4th August, consulting Tuesday and Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm.
